The past year has been one of severe drought conditions in the southern United States. In Texas, for example, over 73% of the land is currently in 'exceptional drought' conditions. However, there are very few systems currently in place to collect rainwater in residential and commercial areas.
The photos show storm water running off during a rare rain event in south Texas. If rainwater collection was implemented, much of this water runoff could be reused for irrigation or residential purposes.
